and serves as a ceremony for paying respect to the flag.

at travis afb...
this occurs at 4:30 pm.

if you are in a moving vehicle...
as we were...
you pull your car to the side of the road...
put the vehicle in park...
and remain there until the end of the national anthem.

as i listened to the star spangled banner...
i thought it fitting to see the plane trails in the distance.
