to market...to market...

friday evening i was talking on the phone with my mother...and she mentioned that she might go to the farmer's market on saturday.  so...when i woke up saturday morning...i thought i'd head over to my parent's...and go with her.  

of course...since she didn't know i was coming...i called first to make sure she hadn't gone already...because i didn't want to get to the house...and be the only one there.  

we had a great day...and tried some new things.  

here...my mother is holding a bunch of satsuma oranges that she purchased.  we tried one when we got back to the house.  they look funny...as the skin is very wrinkled...but the inside fruit was very sweet.

i bought award-winning nago ginger sesame miso salad dressing from these gentlemen.  they were giving out salad samples at their booth.  david's (on the right) dad makes the dressing.

when we left the market...we went to best buy...and i posed with sully and pooh.  it was rather warm out...and i'm sure they were hot in those costumes!    

 

we hit up a few other stores and a car wash before i returned home.  we had a great day.  thanks mom!

cause i like having too much to do...

so...i'm about to embark on yet another venture.  with my daughter.  we were talking the other day...and i...sort of casually said to her...we should do a project together.  a blog.  an etsy.  a website.  something!  she...to my surprise...said yes!!! 

it will involve photography.  it will involve food.  it will involve gardening.  it will involve books.  really...that's me saying all those things.  she's the structured one...and says we should have a webinar...or something like that...to meet and plan.  so...we've got a meeting planned for this weekend.  in the meantime...i'll do some gardening. 

i planted six different types of tomatoes this year...and plan to make some sauces...do some roasting...and share quite a few.  i'll also be growing pumpkins again this year...but i'm trying another variety.

one of my favorite spots to hang out, for the spring planting party.

mrchazman and i planted a couple of container bulb gardens...had a bbq lunch and a bottle of wine...and just...enjoyed the ambiance.
